Mint Julep

Best enjoyed from a rocking chair on the front porch or during a day at the races, the Mint Julep is the drink you should have in hand if you want to pass yourself off as a dapper Kentucky gentleman or distinguished Southern belle.
Different from the Mojito in that it features bourbon instead of rum, this Southern staple is a quintessential Summer beverage, refreshing and packs a nice bite.
* Add about 15-20 mint leaves, a touch of bourbon, and about 1 oz. simple syrup (to taste) to a tumbler or mixing glass
* Muddle the ingredients (smash 'em up). Let sit for a moment to allow mint to impart its flavor, and then strain into a julep glass
* Coat the glass with the syrup mixture; add ice and 3 oz. Bourbon whiskey. Garnish with mint sprig
